Amish Door Restaurant, Wilmot, OH

On our recent visit to Holmes County, Ohio, the lovely Robin and I ate a meal at the Amish Door restaurant in Wilmot, near Berlin, where we were staying. It began as a forty-eight-seat family restaurant called Stucki's. It's not that anymore.
The current restaurant, next to the original building, seats 450, and includes a gift shop and bakery. Also on the grounds of the Amish Door Village is the Hasseman House Bed & Breakfast, the Banquet Center, and The Inn at Amish Door.
Let me say a few words about the service. Our server (Rebecca, I think) was wonderful. But she (and the manager, I assume) went beyond cheerful and attentive service. Robin ordered pork chops, which was more ham-steaky than she likes. She wanted white meat pork chops, not ham. I don't know how else to describe it. So I mentioned to our server that she wouldn't be eating the pork chops, and soon a manager came to our table and offered her alternative entrees. They had done nothing wrong, but she bent over backward to make sure Robin had a meal she could enjoy.

The Amish Door is located at 1210 Winesburg St. in Wilmot, Ohio, and in 2017 will be celebrating forty years of business.
